The importance:
To-do lists are crucial to how I organise my life.
If it is NOT on my to-do list, It is not happening.
I sometimes use my calendar as a to-do list as well.
Basically, events that I need to attend or meetings that I need to attend all go on my calendar. Sometimes I may even add other things too.
However, to-do lists are more for daily tasks or tasks to do tomorrow. Without the list, you often find yourself forgetting what you had planned to do and you just have too many things on your mind that are not organised.
An example of how I use to-do lists:
Here is an example of a to-do list I may have for tomorrow:
Take out trash on my way to my car
Buy paracetamol on my way back home
Film PLAB video tomorrow
Attend OSCE teaching
Zoom call with a friend for some notion questions they have
A tip to make it more effective and to reduce stress
You get the gist. It’s not JUST a random list as well. They are all in chronological order. This way, I wake up and just check the list and do what I set myself to do. I am in the hospital? I remember I have things to do, I just open the list and check. I don’t have to waste time remembering what I had to do. I just have to check a list.
So yeah, enough rambling from me, I can’t emphasise the importance of to-do lists any more than this.
Feel free to use paper and pen, ye old and faithful, but for those of you that are not heathens and want app suggestions, here they are.

Tasktab
Fantastical:
My calendar app of choice is fantastical. I could never justify paying for a calendar app, but for some reason, I can’t seem to make myself cancel their subscription. The app is just so good and so effective in making you get things done and never forget any events. It’s £5 a month and I am 2 months into using it. I am still trying to find a free alternative because I would rather NOT pay for a calendar. Until then, take my money fantastical.
